Miami Gardens– On October 20th writers, composition prgorams, and writing centers around the country celebrated NCTE's National Day on Writing (NDoW). The UWC @ STU held a celebration filled with writing games and activities, and they invited writers to read some of their works with fellow students, staff/faculty, and Pace high school students.

The gallery, called the Writers United/University Writing Center @ STU, was created so that STU students, teachers, administrators, and community members in the Miami area could share/publish their writings. In the months leading to the October event, the Spartan Café was created as sub gallery so that students from Pace could also submit. During the UWC's NDoW celebration, we published over 75 submissions; approximately 20 came from Pace students.

A group of students and faculty from Pace visited the UWC to celebrate NDoW and participated in various activities like the Spontaneous Writing Booth and the Never-ending Story. One Pace student, Adriana, stated that “the people, environment, and food were amazing. My first college experience! The best was getting to read my paper out loud.”
