UWC Director Wins IWCA Book Award

Miami Gardens- The UWC’s Director, Dr. Kevin Dvorak, and Dr. Shanti Bruce of Nova Southeastern University were recently awarded the 2008 International Writing Center Association Best Scholarship Award for their edited collection, Creative Approaches to Writing Center Work (Hampton Press 2008).

This contribution to writing center field has proven to be invaluable. Dvorak and Bruce presented various segments of the book at the recent 2009 SWCA Conference in Greensboro, NC.

Dvorak stated that “the project involved a lot of hard work over a long period of time but it was well worth it. We always believed it would be a valuable contribution to the field, and we were honored that the field felt the same.”
