Miami Gardens (11/23/2010)- Lilyeth Antonio, a sophomore tutor, was one of two STU students to earn a full scholarship to attend the 2011 Florida Student Leadership Forum on Faith & Values to be held March 4-6 in Tallahassee.
According to the conference website, the conference "is modeled after a National Forum started in 1991 with the Vice President and Senator Bill Nelson’s colleagues in the United States Congress. The main feature of the forum will be the opportunity for students to hear from and spend time with leaders from business, government, sports, and the arts to hear their successes and failures, their values, and how they apply their faith to their lives and their work. Previous years’ participants have included: Governor Charlie Crist; Governor Jeb Bush; Governor Lawton Chiles; Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp; Lt. Governor Toni Jennings; Lt. Governor Frank Brogan; State Sen. Tony Hill; Tallahassee City Commissioner Andrew Gillum; State Representative Tee Holloway; State Representative Dennis Baxley and other leaders from government and business in Florida."
Ms. Antonio was nominated by Dr. Kevin Dvorak.
